The rectangular jewelry box on display has a flap lid on two metal hinges and a latch bolt. The side walls of the lid and the case are made of wooden bars, connected at the corners by mortized joints. The ribs outside are rounded. The upper part of the lid and the base are made of solid rectangular boards, protruding beyond the edges of the side walls and have a rounded cut. From the outside the box is covered with black lacquer, over which it is decorated with straw appliqués. On the upper part of the lid there are two stripes with a diamond-shaped pattern in a double rectangular frame separated by a dark field with floral motifs.

On the right there is a stylized image of Moscow Kremlin buildings. It shows a two-line inscription: “To my dear son Alik / from Daddy“, below is the image of a large flower with six petals. On the side walls of the lid there is a diamond-shaped pattern. On the side walls of the case is a geometric pattern in the form of chains of semicircles and rhombuses with floral motifs inside. On the rear vertical ribs of the case there is a diamond-shaped ornament, on the front ribs there are paper appliqués on which the image of a pioneer woman can be seen. The box is covered with golden-brown lacquer on top of the appliqués.

A metal latch is attached to the front side wall of the case from the inside, which is operated from the outside with a round dark button inserted into a hole in the wall. On the front side wall of the lid there is a metal plate nailed on the inside, which the latch clings to when closing the box. The box has inner soft walls made of cardboard and cotton wool and covered with purple fabric on top. The walls of the box are covered with blue paint and golden brown lacquer on the inside.

The jewelry box was made by Alexander Andreyevich Svidentsov, a resident of Yaroslavl, a former radio newscaster at the Krasnoperekopsk radio station and a veteran of the Great Patriotic War. Svidentsov was repressed in the early 1950s and served time in Ertsev, a settlement in the Konoshsky municipal district of the Arkhangelsk region. It was there that he made this box.
