The exposition of the Urazovo Local History Museum contains a picturesque painting ‘Flood water’. It is the work of Nikolay Ivanov, a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, a teacher of drawing at the Urazovo school.
Nikolay Ivanov was born on December 10, 1926 in the Kursk region. In 1943 he went to the front, where he served as a gunner in a self-propelled artillery regiment. For Battle Merit Ivanov was awarded the Medal ‘For Courage’. In 1943 Ivanov was seriously wounded in the leg and he was demobilized.
In 1952 Nikolay Ivanov graduated from the Kursk Art and Graphic School. Then he received a job referral as a drawing teacher in the settlement of Urazovo, Kursk region. For more than 30 years Ivanov taught children. During this time he graduated from the graphic arts faculty of the Moscow Pedagogical Institute. For his many years of work, he was awarded many times with certificates and diplomas. In 1965 Nikolay Ivanov received a Certificate of honor from the Ministry of Education of the RSFSR.
