For the 60th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, artist Vladimir Bukarenko donated his painting ‘March. Edge of the forest’ to the Urazovo Local History Museum, as well as personal documents and photographs, which took a worthy place in the museum’s collection.
Vladimir Bukarenko was born in the settlement of Urazovo. In February 1941, he entered the Kursk flight school, but the Great Patriotic War interrupted his studies. Bukarenko had to return home, where he and his family survived the long months of the occupation. In January 1943, after the liberation of the Valuyki district from the fascist invaders, Vladimir Bukarenko and his friends, born in 1927, at the call of the military registration and enlistment office, began his military service in the extermination battalion. He ended the war in Estonia.
When the war ended, Vladimir Bukarenko studied at a military college, then at a military academy, and then entered to serve in the Volga Military District. His military career was very successful: he spent 42 years serving in the Armed Forces.
After retirement with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel Bukarenko lived in the city of Samara and devoted all his free time to creativity. His works have repeatedly participated in city art exhibitions of Samara.
