‘Tourist’ is a plate-based medium format flap chamber (foldable) with 6.5×9 cm plates. The plates were loaded into special cassettes made of metal, attached and one-sided. The set included only 6 cassettes. The device body was made of plastic with a retractable front wall. To bring the camera into working condition, it was necessary to pull the front wall (including the lens) and shutter towards yourself. For convenience, there were special semi-circular notches on the short ends of the rear of the case.

On the back of the camera there was a door locked with a sliding latch. Opening the door would reveal a soft leather hood. Ground glass was put inside the hood.
The Tourist could be focused in two ways: by the distance scale on the lens and by ground glass. Focusing range was from 1m to infinity. The camera had two foldable viewfinders: a frame viewfinder and an optical viewfinder.
