The writing set consists of several parts. The rectangle stand is made of black marble with beveled edges and a recess-groove for a pen. Two bronze square frames placed on the sides serve to insert cube-shaped inkwells made of transparent glass. In the center of each inkwell there are recesses for ink. They are closed with domed bronze lids. A paperweight is placed in the middle of the stand. Its upper part is rectangular in shape, made of black marble, with a bronze chiseled knob handle in the center. The lower semi-oval part is made of wood.
The second part of the set is a cylindrical pencil cup with a curved lip. It has a wide stepped foot with a narrowing in the middle part. For stability, the cup is fixed on a square base of black marble.
The third part is a pen cleaner also shaped as a cylindrical cup, with decorative rims. The cup is filled with bristles and mounted on a square black marble stand.
