Before the Great Patriotic War, Sergey Sergeyev-Tsensky used this desk to work on his historical epic novel “Sevastopol Labors”.
The epic depicts the true events of the defense of Sevastopol, which lasted 349 days, against the broad historical backdrop in chronological order, starting from August 1854. The epic is imbued with a sense of pride for the common people. It is full of examples of unparalleled bravery and moral fortitude of the defenders of Sevastopol, who would fight to the bitter end in fierce battles for their lands. The epic reads, “Deep inside, everyone understood one thing: we must defend Sevastopol.”
