The artifact has the shape of a double convex lens with a distinct edge, topped with a round cap of 36 cm in diameter, slightly shifted aside from the center. The dome and the base are cemented with finely fossilized mud, which also covers most of the rest of the surface. The silhouette of the find exactly matches the classic ‘flying saucer.’
Experts have determined that the disc is monolithic, there are no cavities inside. It weighs about 200 kg and consists of carbonized siltstone. However, judging by the chip on the edge, it can be flint with concoidea fracture, which is characteristic of it. Solid mineral is able to completely replace the material of the object, which has been lying underground for millions of years, perfectly preserving its original shape. The composition of the disk is very different from that of the soil it was found in, which is mainly sandstones.
The version of the man-made origin of the object is based on the facts that it has visible traces of processing on its surface and an unusual step structure. Expert Artur Presnyakov, who found this object, is sure that nature could not create such a wonder. He suggested that it was either a fossil UFO or a projectile used by our distant ancestors.
Anatoly Kondakov, director of the Kuznetsk Geological Museum is of the opposite view. He considers the mysterious disk an ordinary nodule, a spheroid mineral. The flattened shape can be explained by the pressure of the upper layers.
Ufologists were also extremely interested in the amazing find. On March 19, 2015, a press conference was held, attended by a representative of the Cosmopoisk association, writer and traveler Vadim Alexandrovich Chernobrov. On his initiative, the disc was handed over to the Kemerovo Oblast Museum of Local History for eternal keeping.
Other curious finds had previously been found at the site of discovery of the artifact — those were tree trunks, mammoth tusks and even a dinosaur egg, though it quickly turned into rubble. But nothing like the ‘space disk’ had not been seen before. An elongated cylinder pointed at one end was found with it, on the same day. That ‘pencil’ was so heavy that it could not be torn off the ground. Unfortunately, the amazing stone was taken to a dump.
