Tobolsk Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve is one of the oldest in Siberia. It consists of 62 historical buildings and 11 permanent exhibitions, including the Museum of the History of Government of Siberia, the Museum of the Romanov Family, the Bishop’s House, the Museum of Siberian Penalty and Exile and others.
The collections tell about the history of Siberia since Yermak’s campaigns, about the life and customs of indigenous peoples, about the history of Tobolsk and the local art. The exhibits include old printed books and manuscripts, clothes and jewelry of different centuries, icons, sculptures, works of famous Tobolsk bone carvers. The exhibition has digital projection and interactive materials.
